Trance Vocals. Where to get them and is it expensive?

I wanted to connect to my last post about importance of vocals. I often struggled to find the perfect vocals to give my tracks that extra cherry on top. One of the most frequent questions I get from my students is how to source quality vocals that fit their music, as well as how to create unique vocal elements, sometimes leveraging AI. Over the next few emails, we’re going to delve into this, starting with the foundational step: Where to find those great vocals.

If affordability and diversity are what you’re after, start with Fiverr. Many talented vocalists around the globe offer their services here, with rates ranging from $50 to about $250. I’ve personally connected with amazing talents like Miss Geist through this platform for several tracks. Or my track “Stereo” the rap vocals you hear, came from the same place! You might be surprised by the quality you can find! However, be cautious, as some vocalists may modify their vocal samples heavily with effects, so always listen carefully before making any commitment.

2. Soundbetter.com

For those with a slightly higher budget, SoundBetter is a fantastic choice. Prices generally range from $150 to $1000, but the professional feedback from fellow artists ensures that you’re working with reliable talent. Many of the vocals on my “I am Ready” album were sourced here, showcasing the professional caliber you can achieve. This community-focused site not only lets you hire vocalists but also offers opportunities for you as a producer or writer, adding potential revenue streams to fund your production need.s

3. Vocalizr

Vocalizr is another excellent platform, perfect for those who prefer to preview vocals before purchase. Here, you can find performances ranging from $50 to $1500+. Just like the marketplace concept, you can browse, listen, and buy vocals that inspire you. I tapped into this platform for my recent track, “This Is Our Time.” Plus, as a producer, you can sell your work here, making it a two-way street for discovering and showcasing talent.

Looking Ahead

Next week, I’ll dive into using samples from platforms like Splice or Loopcloud, and when it’s smart to incorporate these into your tracks. I’ll be clearing some common misconceptions on sample licensing, so stay tuned!

For past few months I have been working on something huge and I cant wait to reveal more with you soon! I promise it is a game changer!

Wishing you all the best on your musical journey!
